Update: Workiva Amplify EMEA 2022 took place in Amsterdam and online on Thursday, 13th October 2022—and what a success it was! You can read all about it here and re-watch the sessions on demand here

We’re thrilled to announce that Amplify EMEA 2022 will be taking place in Amsterdam and online on Thursday, 13th October.

Amplify brings together thousands of finance, accounting and compliance professionals every year, giving them the opportunity to learn, connect and share. Since 2019, we have been hosting Amplify in Europe as well as the US, enabling EMEA-based professionals to hear from their own industry leaders, exchange best practices with peers, and get inspired.

What’s in store at Amplify EMEA 2022?

The world of reporting is entering a new era: one defined by transparency. With new challenges on the horizon, it becomes more important than ever to share knowledge as we continue to grow.

This year, Amplify EMEA will be offering its most transformative insights to date. From risk management to ESG and governance strategies, our speakers will be sharing their most valuable insights to help you bring your reporting processes into the future.

Here are five key topics you can expect to hear about this year…

1: Gain ESG clarity

Dr Ben Caldecott, founding director of the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group and associate professor of sustainable finance at Oxford University, will be giving the ESG-focused closing keynote at 4pm. Drawing from his work at the intersection between finance, public policy, and academia, his session promises to offer a unique perspective on how organisations like yours can navigate the new era of transparency.

2: Learn to build your own roadmap

As pressures mount, organisations are aware that their processes will need to change—but the big question is how. With so many standards still being finalised, taking decisive action isn’t easy. How to implement the right changes without causing more disruption?

At 10.30am, Javier del Castillo, Financial Reporting Director at Banco Santander, and Frederic Lang, Chief Accounting Officer at ArcelorMittal, will reveal what they did to strengthen their internal processes. They’ll explain how they made strategic improvements while minimising risk, and share advice on identifying weaknesses within a process.

3: Find out how to turn risk into opportunity

Risk management is now viewed very differently than it once was. Assessing risk is now closely tied to identifying opportunities, as risk teams are expected to contribute to company growth.

At midday, Tanya Lucas, Director of People and Organisation at PwC UK will be discussing the best strategies for building stronger relationships between risk, controls, and the wider reporting function, in order to help them drive business value together.

4: Discover the ‘G’ in your ESG reporting

As non-financial reporting standards continue to evolve, we need to consider the importance of the ‘G’ in ESG. Governance underpins everything a company does, including the ‘E’ and the ‘S’. But how do you establish—and then communicate—a watertight approach?

In our 2pm ESG session, Marie Corger, Head of Sustainability, Materiality and Reporting at Phillip Morris International, will be joining a panel discussion on how to effectively bring governance and transparency into a holistic ESG strategy.

5: Witness the power of data integrity

Achieving data integrity doesn’t need to be as challenging as it sounds. By establishing a unified process, you can help build trust in your numbers, making them traceable and audit-ready. We’re excited to be hearing from David Grant, Managing Director at Forvis. Join him at 2.30pm to learn how he achieved data integrity using the Workiva platform.

6: Overcome reporting challenges

Want to know what Workiva has in store? We’re kicking off the day with an opening keynote from Julie Iskow, President and COO at Workiva, and Erik Saito, Workiva’s SVP and General Manager of APAC and EMEA at 10:00am. Then, at 3:30pm, we’ll be sharing all upcoming developments within the Workiva platform.

And, if you join us in person, you’ll be able to get hands-on with the Workiva platform at demo booths. You can also have one-on-one conversations with our partners: Deloitte, Forvis, KPMG, PwC and Persefoni all have dedicated areas within the conference centre. And take the time to connect with your peers and learn new perspectives—whether you’re relaxing in the purpose-built garden, or over the complimentary food and drink.

Enter the new era of transparency

By joining Amplify (either in person or online), you’ll benefit from all of this and more. You’ll meet some of the brightest minds in the business, exchange insights with industry experts, talk to Workiva customers and even see the platform in action. We’ll also be sharing some exciting new developments on new features and what’s next for Workiva.
